Corey has been working on his Munich-style Dunkel for some time and the result is this amber, medium-bodied brew. With a nice malty backbone, this lager has roasty, slightly spicy notes and a traditional doughy character from the yeast. It is well worth the time he took to perfect it.

Sampled on 7/5/2013. This Dunkel pours a dark brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. With nice lacing and decent retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, bready and slightly roasty. A medium bodied dunkel. The malts are roasty, fruity and sweet, hint of dark fruit. The hops are herbal. Decent carbonation. A fairly smooth, slightly sweet dunkel. Its missing the big sweetness that one would expect in a dunkel, but it has enough sweetness to carry the flavor. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Malty aroma has an overtone that seems to be molasses in one whiff and caramel in the next. Pours a clear, dark, slightly ruddy brown with a thick, fluffy, beige head that sticks around and also leaves some generous lacing. Malty flavor has some roasted character, as well as nutty, caramel and earthy hints and just a touch of cloves. Firm-bodied texture has a decent amount of tingle. Corey Martin, you have a career in brewing in your future!

It was a decent enough dunkel, but lacking in overall "likeability". Amber-brown with a moderate tan head. Very yeasty aroma - malty caramel flavor with a sweet front and lightly bitter back. Non-memorable.

Not a big fan of this style of beer, but this is a nice representation of the style. Deep but clear amber body with a thin tannish cap that leaves ok lace. Flavors of dough, and caramel malts, a bit of sweetness and a dry slightly bitter finish.

Slightly hoppy for a dunkel. Flavor reminds me of Anchor Steam. Caramel and barley mostly. Appearance is a darker medium-brown. Solid representation, yet nothing really stands out on this one like some of the other Longshots. Well worth the try, though not something I'll really remember down the road when it's all said and done.

Deep Amber colored beer with a huge frothy tan head rising robustly above. There's great hang time. Thick splotches of film and ringlet are left behind. Biscuit malts, brown sugar and light earthy notes are in the profile. Light and creamy. Well done.

Dunkels have never been a favourite with me, but this was well done, very well done .. . ruby copper .. low foam, only the lightest spots of lacing .. . deep caramel, bread crust and some nuttiness .. . slick mouth .. . pretty good stuff!! .. . . listen billy --- its bobby --- like it matters...
