Innocent yet beguiling, this hazy golden brew appears to be a classic wittier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthly, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew.

Strong aroma has a powerful coriander overtone, with a firm wheaty and yeasty core to support it. Comes out of the bottle a clear golden with a fluffy, though not too persistent, white head. Flavor is surprisingly complex, with wheaty, coriander, floral, citrus and yeasty notes each taking their turns in saying hello to one’s palate. Smooth texture is quite firm and viscous, if not overly fizzy. It’s no lie - this is a good rye.

Purchased in the States, part of their 2013 Beers of Summer variety pack. Pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy white head, good retention and thick foamy lace. Great fresh herbal aromas with sage, mint and hints of lemon. Disappears quickly though, leaving some citrus malt. Medium-light bodied with not much finish (attack). The herbal notes are milder in the taste. Again, citrus malt with the spices in the background. The sage barely makes an appearance in the finish, with the grain lingering mildly. I wish the flavours were a little punchier, but still, I like this experimental brew.

A dark golden color with a white head. The aroma uhhh woah. It smells like a used bong, sage, citrus, coriander, 3 day old orange chicken, and wet grass. The flavor is somewhat better than the aroma but not a whole lot. Way way too many spices going on with one. Some citrus, rye, sage?, ginger, old bread, coriander. This beer is all over the place. I’ve enjoyed most from the SA summer pack so far, but not this!

Summer mixed pack offering. Pours hazy-golden with white, long lasting head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of wheat malt, ripe fruit and spices. Body is full and crisp. Taste is of spices, sweet malt, citrus and cotton candy. Finish is earthy, spicy and sweet as well. OK summer brew.

A nice new offering by Sammy. Not overwhelming on the rye, but gives it an extra sweetness. Flavors include citrus and coriander....sort of like a Blue Moon Belgian White. Cloudy medium yellow/light orange appearance. Could be my favorite one in this summer's variety pack.

Loving the sage in here - makes it seem a lot like some locally brewed saisons I've been enjoying lately. The feel is nicer than the average wit. Aroma of sage with undercurrents of citrus. Flavor mainly those things plus light coriander and spicy rye. Glad I got the mixer.
