AMber and clear. Short-lived creamy head, streams of lacing. Slightly sweeter aroma than the other Deconstructed IPAs, floral and citrus hopped aroma, some fruits. Taste mimics aroma with a near sweet maltiness balanced with floral hops bitter.

Ahtanum features a more floral presence than the previous two (East Kent Golding, & Hallertau)but citrus is the prominent feature, along with the sweet malts of course. So far my favorite of the deconstruced series.

a hop variety that stands on it's own quite well. a balanced mix of pine and grapefruit, with a decent floral nose, though nothing pops. lends itself well to the balance of the malt. darker than the others?

Rich, smooth and well-balanced... this is one for the masses who may just be enjoying an introduction to IPAs. Pours golden-orange to amber with a moderate white head and nice lacing throughout. A tad sweeter than some IPAs, it pairs well with the bitterness in the hops for a nice well-rounded sensation to the pallette and taste buds. A keeper!

Sampled on 5/14/2011. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head with nice lacing and decent retention. The aroma is citrusy, piney and floral, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy, piney and floral. Nice carbonation. This is so far the most balanced of the single hop beers. The other hops are sort of one dimensional, this one seems to be able to do more than one thing in the beer. Finishes a little sweet. This one is also much fruiter tasting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
