Your taste buds have spoken! As part of the 4th Annual Samuel Adams Beer Lover's Choice program over 50,000 of you tasted the two worthy contestants - Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier and Samuel Adams® Coffee Stout - and cast your votes. The voting was close but as with most contests there can only be one winner. We are pleased to announce (drum roll please) that Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier will be the next addition to the Samuel Adams family of beers. We brewed this traditional witbier with orange peel and coriander, and then added a hint of blackberry. The flavor is very complex with malt and cereal notes, intense spice and citrus flavors and a smooth, sweet/tart finish. It will be available in January in its own 6-pack and in the Samuel Adams® Brewmaster's Collection Variety 6 & 12-packs.

Originally rated June 12th, 2010. Purchased in Nashville in a mix 12-pack of Samuel Adams. Pours a cloudy honey golden colour with a creamy slightly off-white head with thick lacing and a nice coat on the brew that stays. Very mild carbonation. Beautiful nose of berries with light yeast malt. After that, it kinds of gets disappointing. Not much of the fruit promised in the aromas are in the taste. Mostly grainy malt staying long into the aftertaste. The blackberry is very faint. Tastes more like a wheat beer than a witbier (as I do not taste the white beer yeast). Still nice, but I prefer the Ephemere for this kind of fruit beer.

Picked up a six-pack of this at the drugstore. Anytime anybody has something new around here, I'm sure to pick it up. To my great relief, this beer was not purple when I poured it out of the bottle. A nice orange-copper color, with a light white foam. Smells of blackberries and lemon zest. flavor is a hint of berries mixed with a grainy kind of cereal flavor. The berries are present all the way down to swallow, even lingering in the nose for a bit afterward. however, the hop profile tempers it very well. There is no cough syrup flavor here; this tastes like beer with berries. A great wheat beer. If they are still around next week, I just might pick up more.

I picked this beer up as a mixed six-pack from the Salem Kroger. I was hesitant to try this beer b/c I am not a huge fan of berry beers or wit beers. This beer, however, was a surprise as it was refreshing, crisp, and flavorful. I would buy an entire 6-pack of this.

cloudy yellow appearance with a white head. The aroma is nice with some blackberries of course, citrus, and coriander. The flavor is a little less inspiring but "clean" with some blackberries, lemons, and spices. A bit of syrupy texture exists in the aftertaste. I really have nothing to complain about if this were $5 a sixer I’d pound this all summer long, same with your mom. But it aint. Overall good lawnmower effort.

poured a med gold color with nice head that quickly became a small head that lasted. Aroma hint of blackberries with some hops. Taste was good not overpowering. With just a little aftertaste from the hops. This is a very good beer that I could drink again.

I must admit I was hesitent at first with this one. It lurked in the frig for a while until it called my name. I was happy I answered the call The aroma was great. The berry scent was fresh and not to sweet. It toned down the spiciness of the whit which I do not enjoy. It was very smooth and refreshing. A nice summertime find.

Nice wit-beer!!! I gott this in a sampler pack and was impressed from first pull through the finish. I am not a lambic drinker. Yet I love blacberry, so I have some bias. Crisp aroama, with hops and berry. Not overly complex, and an easy brew to introduce others to new brews. Flavor is spot on. Abrupt and sharp yet gentle. Finish is clean with only the slightest aftertaste (probably due to large scale production) with enough hops to make this worthwile regardless of your preference. Enjoy!!!

Actually much better than I would have imagined. I enjoyed - yes, enjoyed - three before I decided to write a review... just to make sure that I had not lost my mind. Pours hazy orange-ish with a small head and decent lacing. The blackberry aroma and flavor is about as good as it can get. Worthy... and that speaks volumes from me for a fruit beer... or berry beer. Cheers!
