June 2013: 750 ml swingtop bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 7.9%. Beautiful ruby colour, moderate beige head. Lovely malty aroma with plenty of caramel and rye bread, some mild roasty notes in the background. The flavour is also distinctly malty but not too sweet, caramel, brown bread and mild roasty notes again. Moderate hops in the finish.

Tastes like a blegian brown...yeaty, malty , roasty, with heavy carbonation and a touch of rustic barnyar to it. Liked it but didn't love it. Solid brew.

330 ml swing-top bottle. Poured in the original Page 24 stemmed glass a hazy rich-burgundy coloured Brown Ale with a short two fingers tan foamy head that had a mid-sized retention and tons of micro bubbles and some bigger one. Soft carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, juicy red fruits and cold coffee. The flavour is roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dark bitter chocolate and a spicy touch, licorice, notes of ashes. The mouthfeel is light crispy, thick and bitter. This medium to full bodied Brown Ale has a dry roasted malts finish. An easy drinkable and tasteful Brown Ale from the Brasserie Saint-Germain. A good job by the Bogaert brothers !
