Wednesday, February 29 we will be bringing back DR11, now named Endeavour Double IPA (or IPA2 as we labeled it - yes, we understand they are not the same - artistic license). This is our super hoppy yet oddly balanced double IPA with lots of citrus and subtle peach notes. We went out to Yakima last fall as the hops were being harvested to select the hops with the best aromatics. It shows. The beer's name, first suggested by a NASA astronaut, was selected by you who voted to name it after the space shuttle Endeavour, which in turn was named after Captain James Cook's ship that explored the Pacific. Captain Cook's ship was a bark, similar to ELISSA, Texas' tall ship moored in Galveston and the namesake of Saint Arnold Elissa IPA.

A joyous Imperial IPA from good ol' Texas. Fairly straightforward hop profile backed by a solid malt content. Great pour into the glass and a satisfying bitterness to the palate. Sweet and doughy.

Big thanks to Lou for hooking me up with this brew. Pours a bright cloudy copper with a huge white head. Aroma is diggity dank. Stanky hops, grapefruit and pinecones on the nose. Taste is astringent, well balanced but definitely well hopped. Really nice beer from a brewery I have not tried yet.

This appearance was an orange color with a white head. The aroma contained citrus mainly oranges with a strong herbal presence. The flavor also contains the herbal notes along with some oranges and lemons. The aftertaste is somewhat bitter. Overall this was ok but not chillin with the big dogs in the style.

From jerrymorrison. Beautiful clear amber pour with an ample off white head and some lacing. Aromas of apricots, honeysuckle, floral and pine hops, and pleasant sweet malts. Taste if bitter up front, apricot, pine and honeysuckle-floral hops, offset nearly perfectly by the sweet malts. Big and beautiful - very nicely done. Huge thanks to Jerry for this one.

After years of waiting I finally have found some of the Devine series, it normally sells out very quickly, and for once I was in the right place at the right time. Thankfully this one lives up to the hype. Aroma was complex and pleasing with melon, pineapple, flowers and pine. Mouthfeel was relativley smooth as opposed to the usual malt stickiness. The body was a deep amber/ copper with a decent frothy cap that left good lace. The flavor starts with a citrus taste in comes the carmel malt and fades into a earthy pine sap. Overall the beer was nicely balanced, assertive but not overwhelming, a rather impressive offering, really glad about buying a second sixer.

Bought at 8:15am at Kroger, chilled for 30 minutes .. . Pours a deep golden amber, head is very good- and the lacing is even better .. . Aroma is quite something- spruce, resin, sap, fresh squeezed hop juice, and honey hop nuggets .. . very clean and slick on the tongue, this could get you in trouble with how easy and enjoyable this is to drink! .. . perfect dose of bitterness to go with the sweet resiny hoppiness and hop oil that coats the tongue .. . this is a delicious beer, and is easily the best Divine Reserve on release .. . Cheers to Saint Arnolds, and as my mom said as she tried this brew for first time "its like frolicking in a pasture of fresh hops" well said ma! . ... .. Say, Dave, maybe after work you'd like to go by the zoo and shoot goats..
