Each time we make this ale we pick a different single variety of hops and use them exclusively in the brew. The malt bill stays fairly consistent from batch to batch so as to allow the distinctive hop flavors to come through. Here are just a few of the hops used in the past: Simcoe, Vanguard, Sterling, YCR-004, Amarillo, Satus, Santium, Tomahawk, and Columbus. Available on draft seasonally.

On tap. Meh. It’s hard to get excited with this beer, even if it is RR. Give me their house IPA any day. The aroma has a nice showing of citrus and a touch of iced tea. Flavor has some minor citrus character, a touch of bready malts with a lingering bitter finish. Great idea, just a so-so beer.

(Sterling hops version) a clean, simple, slightly citrus aroma and flavor. it was quite good, and I love the idea of highlighting each hop veriety, but their other hop bombs are better.

Pours with a deep golden body topped by a thick, creamy head with a good amount of lacing. Wow, it’s hoppy as hell in both the aroma and flavor. Bitter piney notes prevail over slightly sweet grapefruit notes and a slight flowery note. The aroma is a little green with grainy notes. Medium to full bodied and slightly dry.
