Woohoo... another Voodoo Doughnut beer from Rogue !! Pours a cola-looking colour with a big beige head, great retention and thick creamy lacing. Aromas of cocoa with some banana notes. The taste is chocolaty as well with some roasted malts and yeast. Hints of banana in the finish. The mouthfeel is quite light, so goes down nicely. More like a good chocolate beer on the weizen-side. No sight of peanut butter though. Still, thankful I tried it.

Shared bottle with sam. Light brownish amber colored pour, short thin head, little lacing. Sweet aromas of chocolate, some bananas, very little peanut butter, a bit more pronounced as it warms. Taste is not pleasant: the flavors, in beer, do not mix well. Yes you get some chocolate, bananas, and some peanuts but there is a weird aftertaste and something just isn't right with this - maybe a slight metallic? Definitely not one of my favorites.

Drinkability on this one is low. 4-6 oz is enough...past that it gets a little old and cloying. Smells and tastes as advertised, thought the chocolate dominates and the banana is well behind the other aromas and flavors. Heavy palate for a low abv beer. Fun to try. Definitely glad I waited til it was on sale, and definitely a one timer.

Strong aroma has definite notes of chocolate, peanut and banana - smells more like a candy bar than a beer, but I love chocolate, peanuts and bananas. Pours an opaque chocolate brown that lets in a peep of light only at the very bottom. Tan head is thick and frothy, and sticks around for a while. Flavor is - well, on the thin side, notes of chocolate and peanut not strong, slight malty undertone. Chalky texture is rather thin and not fizzy. OK, Rogue, A for effort, but to put it politely, not your best effort. Nevertheless, worth a try.
