Nobody's buying this in my area, so price is dropped to $9.99 a bottle and now it's finally moving off the shelf. Not worth the original 15.00 price tag. For such a nice bottle, what's up with the beer cap? Just got to have a cork/harness assembly on this. Nowhere near as tasty as cheaper porters from say, Anchor. This one gets a thumb down for the sucky price tag. Not recommended if you have to pay full price.

Had a few times on draft @ the Avenue Pub, New Orleans .. . Pours a deep black brown .. good foam .. . really awesome lacing .. . lots of roast bitterness .. . a fantastic brew . .. . don't worry about about it, i soaked it in the toilet to soften it up..

Rich chocolate aroma, with hints of oak, hops, and coffee. Super thick head that leaves some ok lace, rich, and full mouthfeel. Taste is a little bit of a letdown considering the aroma, its a bit weaker than what i thought it would be. A good beer none the less.

Cool blue bottle. Mahogany black pour. Near perfect light tan head. Huge lacing throughout drinking. Aromas of cocoa, mocha, sweet roasted malts, brown sugar, sourwood honey. earthy hops. Taste follows the aromas with a big mocha/java/cocoa goodness, lightly sweet and well-toasted malts, very subtle hops bitter, dry finish. MUCH much better than the regular Rogue Mocha Porter. Flavorful and rich.

sampled on 5/28/11. 750ml blue bottle with mitch. pours a pitch black color. medium head. aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty malt. taste is roasty with loads of chocolate and coffee. body is medium/full. mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. finishes with a bit of bitterness as from coffee/dark chocolate.

The color in the goblet is as black as a brand new shiny 8 ball. The brew possesses a slight mellow bite on the tongue but remains smooth in texture. Dark bitter chocolate inhibits the flavor dimensions of the beer, accompanied by a very malty and hopful flavor.

Really lovely flavour, doesnt seem to smell like much, really really thin for an impy porter. The bitterness seems to come entirely from a coffee flvaour. Not much traces of chocolate for me, which makes it seem like a coffee porter more than "mocha". Mocha to me would be silky and full and chocloate forward, with oats, and big mouthfeel. This is more bitter and coffee and burnt wheat. The beer is good, just not what I was expecting... just an average coffee porter I think.

Nice. Pours dark black with a rim edge thin tan head. Nose of chocolate and a bit of coffee. Mouthfeel is good albeit maybe a bit thinner than my expectations. Flavor is great.

Aroma is smoky with molasses and fishy tones. It pours a deep sable with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, pale tan head. Flavor has tones of molasses and coffee, with a fairly strong alcohol bite. Texture is quite fizzy, not quite as thick as most porters, and leaves a fizzy and bitter aftertaste.

The big blue monster comes in a 26 oz wine size bottle. Drinking the whole thing yourself will give you a nice buzz. It poured dark brown with a very brown, big, fluffy head. Aroma is sweet, like milk chocolate, a tad of green apple, and some hops hardly noticeable. This beer has a full, soft body, a real joy in the mouth. Starts out sweet but has a long, lingering bitterness with hints of coffee. I have to admit that it didn't really meet my expectations, especially considering the price, but still a really good beer.
