    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Half liter bottle pours out clear gold with copper hues and thin white head. The mild aroma emits harmless levels of chunky cinnamon apple sauce, a thin layer of caramel and a bit of boozy heat. The taste feels a touch thin to start and delivers a mix of apple sweetness, a mild twang of yeasty tartness and then subtle caramel notes. Midway and to the finish some prune and faint cherry notes join in as well as a dash of booziness. Decent brew for what it is or isn’t.

Malty aroma is of average strength with a fruity note and a hint of caramel. It pours a clear golden amber with a fairly thick, if not persistent, pale golden-tan head. Flavor is malty, about average, with licks of caramel and pear, nothing special but still palatable. There is an appreciable, if not strong, alcohol kick. Texture is rather fizzy, but finish is rather wan. Overall, fair to middlin' but worth a try.

Beer 5 of the 12 beers of Christmas. What a lump of coal this one is - There is more than a Missing Elf with this beer. Pours clear amber with little head or lacing. Sweet malty almost corn aroma with a weird alcohol smell. Taste is metallic sweet malt and alcohol. Not good. Not a doppelbock like I've ever had.
