I tried this one one night in front of the fire and it was a solid English style holiday ale. Balanced and full, this one had a hint of nut on the nose with hints of toasted malts. For sure a great holiday ale.

perfume like aroma a little off putting at first, but grew on me. Not a bad beer or a very good beer - a little on the boring side, as unfortunately most Ridgeway beers seem to be. Shared this one with a friend...

Slightly rocky head over a hazy amber brew. Soapy aroma on top of very light malt - uninspiring at best. Hop flavors start to build and reach their height in the finish and aftertaste. Detected a slightly sour metallic flavor throughout. Thick mouthfeel. Decent beer for free (received as a gift), would never pay for it.

Another brew in the "Reindeer" series, in the case is subtitled "Droppings". Strongly malty with a strong hoppy kick. Fairly heavy body and substantial english ale style sweetness.

Strong aroma is spicy with an overtone of caramel and honey. It pours a clear golden amber with a thick and fairly persistent off-white head. Flavor is malty and spicy with a hint of caramel and just a touch of honey sweetness. Texture is smooth and fairly tingly, leaving behind a nice fizzy and spicy finish.

An amber colored with orange tints beer. A small foamy textured, white head rises above. Settles fairly quickly. The lacing is made up of splotchy film on the sides of the glass and a thick ringlet atop the body. The nose is sugary, caramel. The body is light. It could use better carbonation. The taste is biscuity, caramel and bitter woodsy hops. Really not bad.

Pours a nice clear amber with a full head leaving lots of lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of some sweet malts, ripe fruits, and light hops. Taste is of malts, dates and ripe fruits, then a slight hops bitter that lingers some but no spices.

It is that time again for crazy christmas brews. I own a hat that looks similar to the one the reindeer is wearing on the bottle. Pours a cloudy golden colour With a small white head. Aroma is noticeably malty with soft hops as well. Taste is initially malts, bananna and bitter orange peel on the palate. Transitions into berry fruits, grapes and oak.

Got to love Ridgeway brews and their creative labels/beer names. If for nothing else, they will surely make the scroogiest of scrooges laugh! Reindeer Revolt is yet another new discovery compliments of the Sharp Edge Creek House. Chewy caramel and a sugary sweetness are the rule of thumb with this light coppery orange beverage from the UK. I found it very easy to drink, but it just didn't seem like a holiday seasonal to me, as there was no real spice character to it. Not too bad, but I think Revolt may be more appropriate for the fall, not Christmas.
