more citrusy hops in the aroma than expected for an English Ale. Otherwise pretty ho hum. Decent balance, caramel and biscuit malt, and an odd show of alcohol for a 6% beer.

This bad boy in the Christmas themed line of ales is a bright orange-amber tinted colored ale. A small, frothy white head that settles quickly into a thin soapy lacing. The aroma is alcohol. The body is moderately robust. Crisp on the palate. The taste is pine and citrus hops. Drinkable and flavorful to be sure.

Pours a clear amber with a fairly thick white head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. Some carbonation. Aromas of floral hops and sweet malts. Mouthfeel is a tad thin. Taste is a bit floral with the hops then a decent sweet malt base.

500 ml bottle, from "A Rather Curious Collection of Holiday Ales" - label as pictured above. 6% alc Winter's Ale. Pours dark gold with a large, off-white head. Foam shrinks to a floating cap, leaving some thin lacing. The smell has pale ale hoppiness, floral and herbs. The taste has the same herbal hops with a good malt base. Crisp, dry finish. Medium body, slightly oily. A nice English IPA, just named a Winter Ale to help with marketing. This was the favorite of the 4.

This brew pours a nice orangy amber with a thick white head. Although it is an IPA, the aroma is surprisingly malty, with just a touch of sweetness. Flavor is richly hoppy, with a strong malt component, a hint of fruity sweetness, and only a whisper of hop bitterness. It goes down smoothly but with a good alcohol edge and a hoppy, mildly bitter aftertaste.

I liked the deep golden color that this beer poured. There was a thinnish head on the top which lasted quite a while. There was a pleasant hoppy and fruity aroma and a taste to match. While this wasn't anything out of the ordinary I did enjoy sampling it.

Poured a deep gold with strong hoppy aroma. The flavor was of hops but much light than the aroma. At first taste I was not sure I would enjoy this but on second taste. I found it most enjoyable.

POurs out in a pale amber colour with a large creamy white head. Cookies, jammed ginger with mild piney and orangey hops. Clean flavour of apricots, resin, mild lemon and dough. Hints if cardboard and metal. Long medium-bitter finish of citric fruit that lingers on.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity hops, slight grass and nice caramel malts. Also some slight malts. Flavour is spices, fruits and some grass. Pleasant and refreshing.

Bottle has a unique yeast-trap neck, bulbous in the middle to rouse the pouring beer and capture any yeast that settles. Bottle conditioned. Cloudy yellow-gold hue with millions of bubbles, a huge, frothy white head, and great lacing. Head collapsed to a persistent film. Despite the warning, I did not think it was all that hoppy at all. Enjoyable and recommended.
