I was excited about this beer it being a german lager and all but was somewhat disappointed to find it was very flat and somewhat flavorless. It had a malty feel to it but it seemed like all the life was beaten out of it. Smell was off and mouthfeel was smoothish. But all the other elements made the mouthfeel seem worse.

My friend John brought this back in a growler from the brewpub in Salt Lake. It apparently didn't travel well, as it smelled a bit skunky when we opened it. Very little head, slight lace, and the most subtle carbonation. Orange-amber color. I really didn't noticed much of a hop element at all. It was definitely smoked--tasted almost bacon-like. Some of that rich smoky quality sifted through the aroma as well. Overall, I didn't really care for this beer at very much. I'm appreciative for being able to try something new, nevertheless. The best part of these beers from Utah is that we drank a gallon of them and barely even felt a buzz.
