Watership Brown is Red Hare's hopped up brown ale. Medium brown in color, this beer starts off with an almost nutty nose. The initial taste is very sweet and then followed by the roasted character of the darker grains used in this beer. At roughly 55 IBU's the hop character is very noticeable but not overpowering and balances with the 7.2% ABV for a slightly sweet, somewhat hoppy, and definitely roasted finish.

First of all,the label on this can is amazing.....it simply captivates me. Secondly, a big thanks to Louis for providing this wonderful brown. Unlike any other I can recall within this fairly broad style. Mild floral/earthy hops are in the background allowing a caramel, chocolate, and nutty dream to emanate through the nose and into the belly. Silky to the palate, medium bodied with a slow drawn out malty & mildly bitter finish. Amber~brown in color, filmy khaki head and stringy lacing. This is a great beer.

This is no Brown ale! This thing was a surprise behind an unassuming label, tons of flavor! Sent courtesy of BlueLou, thank you for another gem I likely would never have found. Tons of chocolate in this one with a silky mouthfeel, very nice beer, went down way too fast!

Sixer of cans from sam. Translucent dark tea brown pour, nice light tan head and cap, ample lacing. Inviting sweet caramel and chocolate aromas and taste, some light nutiness, slight earthy hops to offset the sweetness, even more pronounce hops as it warms. This is a very nice brown ale indeed. Lots of flavor and at 7.2% ABV it is not meek. Thank you Sam!

Comes out of the tap a beautiful, barely transparent chocolaty brown with a fine-bubbled light tan head that leaves exceptionally generous lacing. Chocolaty, malty aroma has a hint of caramel and is slightly sweet - and very appealing. Rich, very pleasing flavor has malty and chocolaty tones with hints of caramel and wood. Texture has good body and plenty of fizz. I have spent months trying to catch this one, and it was well worth the hunt.
