Red Hare celebrates Atlanta Beer Week with a special limited edition brew. Our Coffee Cream Stout begins with a dark-hued grain bill that includes chocolate malt and Midnight Wheat. We added lactose for sweetness and to boost the mouthfeel. Cold-brewed coffee was added in the boil and then the beer was ‘dry-hopped’ with another espresso coffee blend from Cool Beans, our local coffee roaster in Marietta, who roasted the coffee especially for us. A solid coffee nose gives way to a roasted sweet flavor with a medium body. Coffee flavors follow up in the aftertaste to create a brew that successfully melds the coffee and stout flavors. Have this brew with your favorite meal as well as dessert.

    Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Strong, smoky aroma has a rich overtone of high-quality roast coffee an a hint of milky cocoa. Pours a rich, opaque dark sepia with a thick, fine-bubbled buff head that leaves some generous lacing. Sublime flavor has bold notes of quality roast coffee, milk chocolate and burnt malt with nutty, hoppy, licorice and caramel hints. It will take a lot of restraint to keep from finishing the whole growler myself! Smooth texture has firm body and plenty of fizz, leaving a smoky finish that has a firm coffee overtone, as if I had just gulped down a top-of-the-line iced mocha. Catch this one while you can - it ain’t gonna last!
