During a fierce storm on his voyage across the ocean, William Rahr could be heard yelling from the tall masted ship: "Roll on old sea! And when you are done, when the storm clouds have destroyed themselves, we will still be standing and drinking!" Today, we have created the ultimate ale for a voyage such as this: A German-Style IPA - a traditional India Pale Ale with German Influence. Our German-Style IPA is brewed with a blend of all German malts, hops, and yeast. It has a rich maltiness with both floral and spicy hop characteristics. So get ready and hang on - Stormcloud will see you through your roughest seas and straight on to smooth sailing.

Comes out of the tap a clear, appetizing amber, not much head but that is from the pour. Aroma is more malty than hoppy, not too strong but inviting. Flavor, happily, exceeds wheat the aroma promises, hoppy and woody with a fruity and malty undertone. Sweetness balances the evergreen bitterness. Mouthfeel is firm, rough and fizzy, leaving a lively, hoppy finish.

Bought at the Blind Rabbit on Bay Area .. . Pours a medium copper, pretty nice head, lacing is good too .. . wow, when i had this yesterday, was pretty disappointed, but tonight, after a couple of garbage lagers then an amazing smoke beer- a great palate changer and better with a broken in tongue .. . still is quite simple, light sap, sweet tree scrappings, and english hops .. . good for what it is but nothing at all mind blasting .. . ufc135 lets go! fucked streams suck. .. . . Whoa there, Dr. Feelgood, I work at a propane dealership, not Woodstock..

Stormcloud ipa pours a amber body with almost no head or lace. Aroma of pine but very little of it, mouthfeel was on the light side. Flavor is similar to the aroma in that there is some faint pine notes, a little bitterness and that's it. Overall it's more of English ipa, not too impressive.

Pours yellow with good clarity and short, airy head. The aroma is lightly fruity with herbal bitterness. The flavor boasts strong bitterness atop a grainy malt base. Medium bodied, almost creamy.

Sampled from bottle. An interesting beer. Pours hazy copper-gold with a creamy head and thick lacing. Wonderful noble hop aroma with some light fuit notes. Bitter, but combined with a nice toasted malt backbone. More noble hops are in the flavor which gives the beer a nice herbal spiciness. Medium-full body. German-style IPA: Neat idea.
