Belgian-Style Saison style originates from the countryside region that straddles the French-Belgian Border known as Wallonia. This style of beer, brewed for hundreds of years by Belgian farmers to be a tart and refreshing summertime beer. Our version is made with a Saison yeast strain that is fermented at high temperatures(90f) to produce complex spice-like flavor and aromas. Brewed with Organic malts, Organic un-malted spelt and Organic Hallertau hops from New Zealand. OG 1.058, IBU 41

Sampled at GABF on 9/18/2010. This saison pours a light gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and spicy. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nicely spicy. Light and refreshing, clean and crisp. Just what you would expect from a saison. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
