Pirate bomb is our beer Prairie Bomb! aged in rum casks. The flavor from the casks helps impart more vanilla and coconut flavors to the beer while helping to add more body and smoothness to the already explosive and expressive flavors of Bomb!

May 2015: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Aroma first of fusel alcohols, then molasses, rum oak cask, vanilla, coconut, chocolate and roast malts. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Outstanding flavour, medium sweet and roasty, no sign of fusel, otherwise all the delicious notes from the aroma are repeated and strengthened here. Nice chili heat in the finish. Perfect!

Pours coffee brown with a minimum tan head. Aroma gives pepper, roast malt, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Flavor yields chocolate, pepper, roast malt, vanilla, coffee. Texture features full body & peppy fizz. Avast matey, here's some good grog!

Sampled from bottle. Pours black with tan head. Chocolate bar aroma with cinnamon/pepper. Full-bodied stout with intense chocolate, coffee, vanilla flavor. You've got to try this.

Another Prairie Artisan beer from @richardgroves. Deep dark bronze black pour with a condensed short tan head, plenty of lacing. Think rich dark roasted black coffee enhanced with dark chocolates, vanilla, light brown sugar, then the best rum is added along with a piece of a roasted chili. That is what this beer is. A Pirate Bomb that went off in my nose and all over my tastebuds. ARRRrrrr Maties... Shiver me timbers.

Luxurious and engaging, Pirate Bomb, is a bomb to the senses. Pours dark and dense with small, disappearing head. Vanilla, coffee, chocolate, wood; earth balancing sweet, drinking cocoa wrapped up with a bow. Alcohol is not incognito, so I will let my other bottle cellar happily for as long as I can stand it.
