Please note, the descriptions of our beers on this site have been temporarily removed, due to a notice we recently received from the Federal Tax & Trade Bureau, which regulates beer advertising. The notice stated that federal regulations prohibit language stating or implying information regarding the alcoholic content of a beer, even when describing one beer in terms of another, as in the case of the description of our Imperial Porter, which we compared to our regular porter. Terms such as "strong" or "stronger" are strictly verboten, according to this notice. We take that to mean that our Federal government doesn't trust you to make informed decisions about the beers you consume and doesn't want us to provide you with the basic information you need to make such decisions. We'll get new descriptions up as soon as we bowdlerize them, removing all references to the strength of our beers, relative to each other. Thanks, Uncle Sam. We're happy you're looking out for us! Cheers!

Got this beer from a Growler. The head wasn't present at all. The color is dark and murky. The aroma is of burnt coffee and chocolate. The taste is simple of coffee and nuts. The mouth feel is creamy and smooth. Overall a decent beer. Not the best or worst of it's type.

Dark pour with a nitrogen pour looking head...a nice line of lacing telling the tale of each sip gone by. A musty and lactic aroma was present. I don’t typically like the lactic flavor and here it is. Also present was a moderate dark fruitiness and some roasted nuts. All in all, this was okay...nice to try but I can leave it behind and never miss iit.

This is a fairly typical stout. It wanted to be more - just couldn't pull it off. Not as robust as a Guinness (a stout by which I compare all others). Distinct lack of head, lacing and fullness. Not bad, by any means - just not great.
