5 C’s IPA was brewed to give you your IPA fix. It is has a much more citrus nose and taste then the Bottle Rocket and finishes slightly dryer too. 5 C’s is named after the 5 different hop varieties each starting with the letter C we used in this beer: Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Crystal.

May 2010 - Pale orange color, the aromas a floral and fruity hops. This beer is very similar to Bells Two Hearted and SN Celebration, but much, much heavier than either. Sweet citrusy flavors (but not grapefruity) and really thick fruit syrup flavors. A high level of bitterness also presented itself with every sip. I really, really liked it when it was first served to me and probably would have rated it 0.3-0.4 higher, but as it warmed, it bordered on too thicky and syrup. The high hop and bitterness level did little to "balance" the sweetness. Rather than complementing each other, they just peaceably coexisted...a little too sweet and also really bitter. Still, if you were in the brewpub when this was on, there’s no way I would recommend you skip it. It was an experience, that is true.
