A massively hopped strong pale ale brewed to celebrate our anniversary each year. Anniversary Ale is light gold to pale orange in color and offers a potent aroma of fresh pine and citrus with some warming alcohols present. The taste is a thick, chewy hop presence only barely contained by balancing malts. The finish is pure hop expression with a moderate warming alcohol sensation. Hops – Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe; dry-hopped with Columbus and Amarillo. Body – Medium. Availability – Late Spring / Early Summer Release

22 oz bottle, 10 year anniversary ale. Pours slightly hazy copper gold with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued - some sweet malt, a little fruit and piney peppery hops.
The flavor is a little sweet caramel malt and fruit followed by a lot of fairly harsh tarry piney resiny hops with a lingering bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a bit of an abrasive hop bomb, but decent. -

Had a few vintages, this is for the newest incarnation on tap. Always solid, just a little shy of the best iipas out there. Big nose and bitter flavor. More citrus than pine, but both are present. A little balance, but just for body. A nice hop monster when fresh.

Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to gunnar. Deep golden colour, large white head. Intense sweetish aroma with loads of crystal malts, slightly stale orange marmalade, and loads of American hops. Sweet flavour with insane amounts of American hops. Maybe not "overkill", but pretty close.
