This is the fifth growler Degarth opened out of seven he brought back from his trip. Thanks buddy. Pours deep brown with amber edges and thin tan head. Nice full aroma well above average for the style with burnt malts and molasses mixed with earthiness. I also get some licorice and mild malt roastiness. The flavor is like the aroma with tasty bold notes of burnt malts, roasty malts and molasses. Nice distinct flavors that don’t really come together but the flavor experience is actually enhanced with this distinctiveness. Nice sessionable brew that ends a bit thin. Leaves toasty-roasty-burnt notes into the after taste.

Bought a growler in a western NC grocery store. Deep brown, nearly black, with red highlights. Nice head on the pour that quickly dissipates to thin cap. Sweet aroma of flowers, rich dried fruits, and smoke with a tiny hint of tin and lemon juice; bready. Very sweet, fruity, and bready with a pleasantly bitter finish and a bit of smoke. Feels surprisingly thin and light with minimal carbonation, tiny bubbles. Not very sticky, dense lacing. Mild and uncomplicated, no wow, but good and easy drinking.
