An East Coast-style India Pale Ale that weaves hop bitterness and aroma throughout a blanket of malt backgroung. This beer may change from batch to batch as we explore the various interpretations of the style. First brewed in 2006 before the days of this whole IPA cRaZe. The name Yippee IPA actually existed before the beer was ever brewed. We knew we needed a solid IPA to back that solid name and thus Picaroons’ first entry into the IPA world was born. *Label Drawing by Tom Giberson

Poured a clear amber color with a huge foamy white head that lasted part way down the glass and left a good lacing.Pity the taste didn't match the appearance.Like IPA to be a little hoppier and more bitter.Thin mouthfeel with a little carbonation.

Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band. This East Coast IPA creates a huge off-white head that is creamy and has a bit of the cascade effect. Very long lasting, creating an even thick lace all-around. Its colour is amber-orange and carbonation has some of the tiniest bubbles I have ever seen coming up very slowly. Quite a nice looking beer ! The hop is quite present in the aroma with some citrus notes. Medium light bodied with not much stick to it. A nice hoppy taste that is moderately bitter like an IPA should be, but not overly (so might not appeal to hopheads). In the second pour, the carbonation is extremely active with still small bubbles, but not as tiny as before. This time, the head does not seem to come down. I would have to say that this is an awesome IPA that is in the middle of them all, which has amazing drinkability, and is not too strong, not too weak. It definitely puts Keith's IPA to shame for an East Coast one. Yippee !!
