Bottled@Plan B, Copenhagen. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is earthy, wooden, slightly herbal as well as mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is grassy, herbal, wooden, bready malty with some slight notes of saltwater. Pleasantly fruity and wooden aftertaste. Good Kellerbier.

Fränken Bierausflug, Day#5, Brewery#24, Beer#53. We've been using a picture of the Brauerei Pfister on our Oktoberpfist invitations for several years; it was great to finally visit. This kellerbier is a variant of the style; darker in color and richer in flavor than most - almost like a Märzen. Poured vom Faß into a pewter-covered glasskrug, the dark amber-brown body supported a moderate tan head that yielded good lacing. Caramel nose and a smooth, rich mouthfeel. Flavors of light caramel malt, lightly hopped but well balanced. Finishes toffee-sweet with a light hop bitterness.
