Bottle: Filtered A blend of 33% Petrus Aged Pale, pure barrel aged beer that has been aged for two years in oak barrels, and 67% young brown beer. In this blend, the young dark beer contributes the reddish-brown colour and the Aged Pale contributes the slightly sour flavour. Petrus Roodbruin is a typical Flemish red ale as tradition dictates.

April 2013: Shared 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.5%. Very dark brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Interesting sweet & sour aroma, notes of oak and spices, hints of red wine vinegar. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is not as sweet as I feared, and not extremely sour. Light bodied. Some oaky and mild spicy notes, a hint of red wine vinegar again. Minimal hops, and the finish is rather bland.
