I remember trying this yellow beer back in the 1970's. A buddy was trying to prove to me it didn't taste the same as Billy beer. I don't know how he could tell the difference - Bad versus Bad still equals Bad !

Pours a clear pale yellow with a foamy white head which hangs around for short time leaving a little lace. The aroma is of grains and corn, slight hops, and a bit of sugarcane sweetness. The taste is more grains, slight bitterness, and a little metal. The mouthfeel is decent and sharp, with good carbonation and medium to light bodied.

My favorite beer! Man this bottled beer was a favorite with the older men that hung out at our local bars. I would put this beer in the freezer for a least 45 minutes and I really enjoyed it. I believe they quit brewing this beer a few years back. I hope I'm wrong though.

Very average beer. The flavor is somewhat average for a lager, and it is unoffensive. This can do in a pinch, or if you need to take a break. Hey, its from the land of 1000 springs!

Back in the day i hear it was a pretty good beer, but times change and pearl certianly did. Taste of corn and grain, certainly is cheap enough though.

It has one thing going for it - it's consistant - consistantly bad. Consuming this beer is purely a function of economics. If you're damn near broke, it'll do.

Yes, this is a Pabst Co. brand, and yes it is a cheaper brand ,but just remember, ... When you only have 7 bucks and need more than a sixer, pearl will help you out,...just drink it quick before it has a chance to warm up!!!!

Just when i thought that there weren't any more cheap domestic beers left i came upon a pearl. What a trip. The label says that this is the best in texas. Its from pabst and that should tell you all you need to know.

Sampled from can. Pours a very clear light gold with a thin white head and some lace. Aroma is sour. Not unpleasant, but a little pungent. Flavor is balanced and grainy. Unoffensive and uninspired. Light bodied, yet not watery. Stick with the PBR when you drink yer swill.

There was a time when the Pearl brewery produced an original dstinctive Amercian lager that really hit the spot on a hot afternoon - it spoke of South Texas and no other beer tasted like it (this is not to say that it was ever great). Now (after selling out to Pabst), like soooo many small regional breweries, Pearl tastes just like any other mass produced low quality $6.00 per twelve pack lager. A nostalgic loss to those of us who remember the real Pearl, Lone Star, Falstaff, Jax, Shiner, etc. etc.
