Leo is our first blend of barrel aged Saison. After two years of tweaking our brewing techniques, we finally had the right barrel stock to blend between! Although Saison is heavily rooted in Belgian and French tradition, this beer was inspired by contemporary American wild saisons from some of our favorite breweries in Colorado, California, Vermont and Pennsylvania. The dusty, mineral driven Saison background of this beer is balanced by bright, orange marmalade citrus brettanomyces character, with a reserved touch of both citrusy new world and funky aged hops.

Pours translucent apricot with a thin parchment head. Aroma provides tart and sour stone and citrus fruit. Flavor presents seriously tart citrus and stone fruit, plus hints of apple and malt. Texture yields fair body and peppy fizz. Good beer for me because I'm a Leo.
