If there were ever a beer that so quintessentially captures the spirit of the primordial past on planet Earth, it has to be the Hop Nest Monster. Bursting with the aroma of the American Amarillo hop, like the eruption of a great and tempestuous volcano, the Monster makes a bold and intimidating impression even before it reaches the palate. As an all-malt American IPA, over an entire pound per barrel of fragrant and floral Amarillo hops are added to the brew kettle during the final minutes of the boil. This process is known as late-kettle hopping.

Pours a very cloudy blond color with not much of a head. Some bubbles coming from the bottom of the glass but not much. Lots of lacing. Lots of little globs of sediment floating around in the glass, almost think it may be old. Aroma is very sweet and fruity. taste is actually fairly light that stays that way until several seconds later then a big bitterness hits you hard. Very bitter to the tongue and it really lasts after you swallow, almost have to swish with water to get the bitterness out. Guess the beer wasn't bad at all.

Shared by my brother-in-law, not quite sure where he stumbled across this IPA. Good hop nose that didnt' quite translate as well into the flavor. Biscuit and grass with a dash of caramel. Hazy golden orange body with ample head and lacing.

better than average ipa, golden orange with fruity complex flavor. Wore off a little quicker than I thought it would. Spicy yes, complex yes, but not as many layers of flavor that some ipas have.

An odd interpretation of an IPA. Pour is clear gold with a thin white head. Distinct lack of aroma is a bit disappointing. Some spicy bitterness and grapefruit rind about sums up the flavor. Not much going on here.

Extremely pale and clear beer with foamy white head. Amazing punch to the taste buds, very fruity and lively and acidic. Finishes with tart bitterness, good drinking beer. (on a side note, the smell is kind of off-putting, made me fear for the taste)

Pretty stellar brew from Sand Creek. Nice clear amber colour, lots of carbonation. Big juicy hop flavours, but balanced all the way through. Nice citrus fruits, some pear, lime and zest. Mildly acidic, most noticeable with the first brew.
