Let me thank jjpm74 for the chance to taste this beer. The feel of this beer is rich thick and malty. As bitter as it’s namesake with low creamy carbonation. It looks like a darker iced tea. Has a white ring around the inside of the glass for a head. Not very hazy. Overall, when compared to the other ESB; not as refined, sweet or happy as Wychwood Hobgoblin. On par with East End Session #6 - The Bitter End and Whitbread. Malty and bitter with a slight bite or tartness that cannot be described, very complex. Finish is an interesting combination of hops, grapefruit rinds and malty alcohol, lingering long and impersonating. The aroma of this stuff morphs from a sweet strong ale to a hardtack candy.

I've come to the conclusion that if I'm drinking a bitters, from now on I'm drinking a Boddington's. Not that this was a bad beer' it just dosn't stand up to other bitters.

Having spent 5 years of my life in Vermont, I'm down with most Otter Creek brews. So when I saw their ESB on the singles shelf at the beer store, I had to pick one up. Unfortunately, I'm not sold on this one as being great. The beer pours into the pint glass with a rather small head. Whatever head is there, quickly disappears within 30 seconds time. The beer is caramel colored with very little carbonation. It drinks smooth, but isn't like you typical ESB. It lacks thats extra bitter punch that you would expect in most ESBs. Unfortunately, this is not one of my favorite Otter Creek brews and I probably wouldn't recommend it. I think I'll be sticking with Shipyard's Old Thumper ESB in the future.

A terribly bland beer. No true hoppiness, but a slight bitterness. Pours with a small head, nice floral aromas, and a decent translucent amber body. It receives low marks on flavor and a somewhat viscous mouthfeel...
