Named for the muse of epic poetry and the mother of Orpheus, Saison Calliope is the first of our Rotational Saison Series. It is a complex beer with a strong overtone of melon upfront with white grapes and tropical fruit lingering in the background. It is dry with a hint of sweetness and bready wheat. Pours a barely translucent honey golden with a thin ivory head. Aroma is strong and fruity, providing notes of orange, mango and banana. Flavor is rich and fruity, a little bit sour, offering Mandarin orange, mango, banana and papaya tones plus hints of hops and sweet malt. Firm texture has a strong and rather persistent fizz. Let this Calliope make your taste buds sing.
