I've taken The Auroch's Horn and aged it on fresh rhubarb to change the balance from sweet to tart and add a pronounced fruit flavor and aroma. Please enjoy this ale fresh: the rhubarb flavor does not age well and will diminish greatly after a few months The Auroch's Horn Aged on Rhubarb is designed to be served at cellar temperatures, 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature has a big impact on flavor. Pour with or without the lees; a good way to distribute the lees is by pouring the first half of the bottle, gently swirling the bottle, and then finishing the pour.

it's funny how the base beer is just a regular/american strong ale and yet the beer aged on fruit becomes belgian somehow. anyway, I got the bottom, so this review will be a little skewed. i did have a sip of someone else's to compare. Hazy yellow, low carbonation, abv quite well hidden. You can definitely pick out the honey and rhubarb, and there is a lightly sour aspect to the aroma and flavor as well. Unique brew.

Pours so hazy you can only see the light difference. Almost a pineapple juice look to it with a small head that goes away quickly. Little carbonation in the glass. Aroma is very tart and reminds me of some wild ales I have had in the past. Can pick up the Belgian yeast, malts, and the rhubarb. taste is actually quite light and tart with a hint of metal, rhubarb, and yeast. The metal is what hit after a few second and distracts a little from the taste itself. Reminds me right away as one of those Belgian made brews. Not bad at all.
