Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Chestnut coloured beer. Fruity and vinous aroma, some smoke. The flavour has oak and smoke - but they say the beer contains no smoked malts. "Raw in the edges". Fairly dry.

Pours out in a hazy brown colour with a thick beige foam. Citrousy and quite flowery hop aroma with notes of nectarines and red gooseberries. Hints of smoke and hot spices. Full-bodied and really bitter flavour of grapefruit, grass, roasted malts, smoke, nuts, spices and orange-peels. Long bitter finish of grass, orange-peels, rubber and smoke. Not your typical IPA with the smoke and roastiness. Interesting and tasty.
