If you've ever been to our brewery, you've likely seen the old, beat-up truck that hauls away our spent grain. That truck belongs to Lugene, who’s been feeding his dairy cows the hearty malt for over a decade. Named in his honor, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with milk sugar and milk chocolate. The rich and creamy brew reminds us of a cold glass of chocolate milk and our hometown "Aggie" roots.

12oz bottle pours with a dark nearly black body that supports a thin mocha colored head of foam. The modest aroma offers up malt sweetness, bits of smooth chocolate and echoes of sweet dark fruity esters. The taste starts with some sweetness and then it quickly picks up a restrained mild chocolate bar note before a mix of wafer thin layers of dark roasted malts and sweet dark fruity esters join in and help take this to the finish. Smooth tasting brew.

Pours dark chocolate with a good buff head. Aroma presents chocolate and roast malt notes. Flavor gives sweet chocolate, roast malt, subtle coffee and woody tones. Texture yields fair fizz and body. Luge for it!

Pours pitch black with a one finger tan colored head that goes down fairly quick. Aroma is fairly strong with hints of coffee, licorice, milk, and heavy roasted malts. Taste is malty and is fairly light on the chocolate. Slightly watered but is fairly creamy. It is lightly boozed up. I expected more for the price but is drinkable.

Aaaaaand another wish lister. Another winner from Odell. Smooth, and a little lighter than expected for the abv. Slight bitterness in there, but otherwise all about the creamy milk chocolate, smell, taste and body. Don't see the lower scores on this. Maybe the bottle is different...

The idea of a chocolate milk stout sounds great but this one just didn't live up to my expectations. A little thin in body and the chocolate isn't quite as dominant as I had hoped.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a smallish fizzy brown head that quickly goes to a thin film.

The aroma is sweet lactic chocolate, some coffee and some bitterness from the roast.

The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate with some roast. It's a little acidic with some vegetal notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, an OK milk stout with a few off notes. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. A bit pricey at $10 per 4 pack.
