22 oz bottle. Pours ruby amber brown with a medium creamy light tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is perfumey roasted caramel malts and vanilla with a little fruit.

The flavor is sweet nutty perfumey caramel malts with with some vanilla and dark fruit and a green slightly harsh bitter finish that's a little plasticky. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

    Overall, an OK winter warmer.

Nice roasted malt character, with a little hops and alcohol and a smooth drinkability that stood out even amongst some really nice brews. Good strong ale, though I liked the very itg a little more.

Beer 10 of my 12 Beers of Christmas. Deep brown pour, tall beige head, very nice lacing. Inviting aromas of honeyed sweet light toasted malts, nuts, caramel, earthy hops, brown sugar. Taste is smooth yet hoppier than most browns. Sweet caramel and nuts with some brown sugar meet an ample dose of earthy very slightly pine hops. Nice brown, very worthy. If the Gnome drinks enough of this one, he will not be Ill Tempered any longer.
