Pours a hazy pale honey golden with a decent white head. Aroma is wheaty and fruity, the latter component almost entirely apple, and has a hint of honey. Wheaty flavor has a subtle apple undertone. Smooth, slightly fizzy texture is just a teensy watery but still acceptable.

pours a clear yellow orange, not much carbonation or head and no lace. The aroma was of malt, lemon, grass, caramel. It could use some more wheat in the aroma. The taste was lemon, grass, wheat with no hop presence or bitterness. The mouthfeel was light, crisp, refreshing with some carbonation.

From St Augustine's on tap. Cloudy darker gold, rocky white head, some lemon notes in the bouquet. Nice enough wheat flavour, citrus at the end. Good enough mouth.

Pours a golden color. Smell is of malts, some lemons. Taste is malts, wheat, some hops, a bit of lemon, easy drinking. Overall a refreshing summertime beer.

A hazy straw colored beer. Nice sedimentation on the pour. Medium creamy textured, white head rises above. Some hang time. Light ringlet and some film left behind. Light bready wheat and lemon on the nose. Weak bodied. Light lemon and even lighter wheat in the taste. Drinkable. Just not a good representative of the American Wheat style.

An enjoyable and highly drinkable American wheat beer. Blue Star has a good, light wheaty flavor that goes down smoothly. I had this one at North Coast’s taproom. They served it with a slice of lemon, which I’m not a fan of, more’s the pity. Even so, I found this to have relatively good flavor for a wheat beer. There are good grain notes and some citrus. The malt comes through when it’s needed. The beer is bright yellow with some haziness, although it was hard to tell how much that lemon was altering things. It was cold and foggy when I had this beer and that was probably not the optimal setting for such a light, smooth beer.

Hazy pale orange colour with a small white head. Clean aroma of straw, neutral yeast, green bananas and mild lemon with a whiff of cedar. Medium to light-bodied with notes of straw, caramel, grass, cedar and yeast. Yeasty finish of immatre bananas, caramel, wheat and cedar.

A pretty nice American style wheat beer actually. It can be such a boring style of beer, but North Coast seems to be able to make this work. The aroma was wheaty, slightly lemony with a nice yeast profile (fresh baked bread). Flavor was quite refreshing with notes of light citrus, bread, some honey and grain. Reminded me of drinking a nice fresh piece of bread (if that makes any sense). Very nice for a great price.

Agree with slowrunner 77 completely on this one. It looks nice enough with a murky yellowish- amber body, but thats about it, flavor is odd at best with some straw and something else i cant place. Overall this is a below average beer from a good company, but hey nobody bats a thousand.

refreshing brew, and i agree that there is a disctinct lack of "straw aftertaste", but other than that, it's just ok. NC makes some GREAT beers, but this ain't one of em.
