Resultatet ser du her: en Dobbel IPA. a unique fruity sweet twist (but with more than enough hopping and bitterness @100 ibus) after 3 other ipas. you could smell and taste the pilsner malt, very prominent. 5 hops. honey and grapefruity spicy hops.

Sampled on 9/18/2009. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a dark golden color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral hops and malts. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The Malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are floral and citrusy. Nice balance. Kind of malty for a double IPA, somewhere between an English and Midwest IPA. The hop bitterness sort of shows up later in the taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter.

Bottle from SL after learning that sloth killed this thing. Guess I fell for that Japanese garbage on the label, dunno. I sucker much less frequently into these over-priced imports, but still fall vulnerable sometimes. Oh well, cheers to Robert at SL for covering greens fees on another hole! Pour was full hazy orange color, to the point of a bit of brownish almost, deep orange. The head was full but not big, just highly carbonated. The aroma was tea bags, brown sugar, caramel, citrusey hops, definite phenolic elements (the yeast?). The flavor followed the aroma, darned malty, fruity overtones, the hops just not supporting this enough, though, and that tea-baggy thing that comes through with crystal malts and the big red/amber body in these strong dIPAs, it doesn't work for me. With warmer temperatures grassy earthy notes come through. Body is full, highly carbonated, very carbonated and lively. A mediocre example of the style AT BEST, and at the import prices, I give this at least one thumb down. However, I shall give it more than a 1.0 rating, uh, sir, Mr. Bert. At least the appearance had to be higher? (Oh yeah, and I finished it, but I know, I'm a youngin', liver in fuller effect.)

500 ml unlabelled bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy orange to brown colour, big and lasting off-white head with an orangey hue. Intense and lovely aroma of mango and other tropical fruits. The flavour has a substantial sweetness with distinct fruity hops throughout, notes of oranges. Very bitter finish and aftertaste.

Pours out in a cloudy reddish amber colour with a rich off-white foam. Dry, fruity and hoppy aroma of pine, grass, grapefruit and neutral yeast with undertones of dried yellow fruits. Medium-bodied with notes of grass, grapefruit, pine-needles, iron, apricots, flowers and alchohol.Bitter dryish finish of grapefruit, grass, apricots and neutral yeast.
