Something about the thought of ginger in a beer sounds extremely gross. At least thats always what I thought until I tried a ginger beer a few years ago. Boy was I wrong! Ginger goes perfect in beer, if done right. Nodding Head's Monkey Knife Fight is a beer done right. It is a light ale with a golden color. It is lightly carbonated, leaving a very minimal head. The aroma is extraordinary thought with a very flavorful mix of sweetness and ginger. The taste is top notch thought. It's light, smooth and very drinkable. Initially you are greeted by a slight citrus taste, but that is soon replaced by a very pleasing ginger punch. Amazingly done!

This and the California Common proved to be my favorites from my trip to Nodding Head. This is a clear gold with a nice head. There’s a light herbal aroma. It’s a bit grassy with a dry malt finish. Tasty, but light.

Poured a gold color with no head or lace. Sweet malt, and light hop aroma. Light citrus, mildly tart and sweet ginger taste. Rather smooth and malty.
