An American Brown Ale, the Five Fingers offers a full-flavoured, gorgeously coloured beer that is often enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Hop aroma and flavour are less evident than in an IPA, but balance by a stronger bitterness from the hops. A hint of toffee or caramel on the nose compliments the earthy tones and roasted malty flavour on the pallet. The aftertaste of this beer is strongly influenced by the serving temperature.

Pours an average size frothy off-white head and has a slightly hazy amber appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Lively carbonation. Aromas of bready and toasty malts. Flavours are mostly malty, a bit of resin and earthy hops. Hints of caramel but very subtle. Average carbonation and medium retention. Not bad.

Pint enjoyed at the Loon. Pours a light-brown colour with amber highlights. Dark fruity malts nose with mild roasted notes and molasses. Fruity and roasted malt flavours that are light, but with grassy hops in the middle and a nice nutty finish. Some coffee notes as well. Refreshing mouthfeel with a little dryness. An overall nice nut brown with decent hops, but yet still quite refreshing.
