It goes perfect with any meal, and I have even chased chocolate cake with it! If you want to party or relax, this beer goes down easy, and no bad aftertaste. One thing I definatley recommend is to go to the Yard House and get a yard of it. 3 foot beer bong of Newcastle bliss… fun times for sure.

Reckon the fact I’m only 15% Irish is why I don’t like this beer. Best thing I can say was it was free. It’s just a clear brown fluid that almost taste like beer.

The beer is light brown in color, clear, with a thin white head. Aroma is nutty malt, light caramel, toast, yeast, and herbal hops. The flavor is bread, light caramel, some light spice, and a weak bitter finish. A mild brown ale.

Bottle. Colour – brown sugar brown, clear, weak bubbly white head, no lacing. Aroma – nuts, roasted malt, sour grains, weak herbal hops, yeast. Mouthfeel – thin to medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour – nutty malt, weak yeast and weak hop notes in the finish. I remember this beer as a youngster getting some TV commercial coverage but it did not live up to the fame.

Dark brown body with not much head or lacing. Mildly nutty aroma. Flavours the same, mildly nutty, caramel malt and a little bitterness. Sad to say but my home toon brew is just an average beer.

This is just another crappy macro brew. It's a frothy, mushy mess. Looks great... just like those grocery store tomatoes. Kind of tastes like them too. Don't waste your time.

Happy hour special! This complimented okra, edamame and shrimp roll amazingly! Pretty dark brown rich color. Nice fruity taste with a very impressive after taste. I like this almost as much as I like Three Stars Brewery Brown Ale. Great choice on a Friday night in a posh place in DC! If you haven't been on the NewCastle.com website, check it out. As a technology teacher, I'm impressed! Very Very cool! http://newcastlebrown.com/

Surprised I hadn't reviewed this. Reviewing a can to avoid light damage/consistency concerns. Reddish brown with a thin, dense cap that disappears quickly. Caramel sweet with a little lemony tart aroma, the latter of which diminishes, and something tinny. Sweetness on the tongue followed by wood, nuttiness, and a mildly bitter yeasty bread flavor; not very bold or interesting, but beating the big name lagers. Thin, wet, carbonation too large. Surprised to see some lace. Easy to consume with food, which most do. (On another occasion: After consuming something sweet and tart, I notice a certain grapey-ness to this, maybe even a hint of that wild muscadine gasiness. Gives me a new appreciation.)

Dark ruby with brownisch foam head lacing to glass and long staying. Aroma is yeasty and barley, some sweet. Taste is bit too sweet, aftertaste is long and turning more bitter at the end. (Barnsley 201208)

It pours like the name says brown, with a nice off-white (tanish) head, that quickly disappeared. it has a nice mild aroma with a trace hint of nuts to it. Overall a nice drinkable ale with a slight caramel flavor.

This beer is awesome, it tastes malty and it's got this great aroma about it. I just had my fist couple newcastles the other day and they were wonderful. I tasted it out of the bottle. Lots of people say that the bottles are sometimes skunked, but that hasn't happened to me yet! The Newcastle that I drank was from the botttled pint size version, and it tasted wonderful. It defenitely tastes better than most American lagers like Budweiser. The only gripe I have about it is that it's only 4.7% alcohol by volume which is a slight bit lower than what I"m used to. Aside from the kinda low abv though this is a great beer in every way. Give it a shot!
