First review of this in five years. Interesting.... First had it in a small Kootenay pub, and boy was it delicious. The pub was mediocre, but I could have stayed there and drank these all night. Not quite as good in the can, but a decent, strange brew. Decent, but unspectacular colour and head. Nice flavours, subtle cinnamon, nutmeg... Tastes a little macro, with an aluminum-esque flavour. Pretty good for the price, memorable even.

It's a good looking beer, dark brown color with a thick and creamy head. Very good retention, left lots of lacing on the side the glass. Lots of aromas including roast malt, brown sugar. The taste is quite malty (as expected from a brown ale). Lots of roastiness, molasses flavors. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, would have prefered it just a bit fuller. A nice brew, as a brown ale. But was a bit disappointed and expecting more based on the label description of a Winter Ale. Also, at 6% (less than Paddywhack's 6.5) can't see it making you do a faceplant...

Brown body with slight orange showing through, good sized cap appeared during pour but vanished rather fast, a small skiff remained for the rest of the tasting and that skiff did leave so nice lacing behind. What the hell is this smell, I’ve never smelt a beer that even came close to this I swear I’m smelling cream cheese icing?!?!? Tangy, spicy, nutmeg wow is this ever a strange brew, so unique smelling, very nice. Sweet tasting dark malts go down very smooth, medium bodied and with good carbonation. Cinnamon, cream, and other mystery spices are abundant in this malty brew. Very drinkable and very unique, I can’t even begin to describe this beer because so different but still very good.

pours a brown with a off white head that vanishes in the matter of a minute or so... had spotty lacing and there remained a quaint little skiff throughout. the aroma is of roasted malts, there is nutmeg present in the smell and some other aromas which fill the nose. the mouthfeel is a bit creamish and light-medium in body. the taste is spice with some malt. overall this is not that bad... pretty tasty unique aroma and top notch world class tasty/smelly belches!

I have never tasted anything like this before - very unique indeed! Brown beer with a tiny ammount of off-white head that goes to a skim quickly. However, there was excellent lacing during the top half of the tasting. Where is the carbonation? Amora is of sweet roasted malts, a hint of cinnamon, nutmeg and some other mystery flavours. Light taste of alcohol too. Bizarre flavour that I can't quite put my finger on - I like! What the hell is this thing? I did find a lot of roasted malts with some nutmeg and mild pepper and....well, I don't really know. Medium bodied, ok swish and pretty smooth. Middle bitterness and finished sort of dry. A very suprising beer.
