Greetings from Belgium! This Golden Strong Ale is the first in a series of collaborations with breweries from around the world. We teamed up with Het Nest Brouwerij from Turnhout, Belgium where tradition meets innovation. We incorporated coriander seeds and Belgian Candi Sugar, then fermented at a warmer temperature than usual for an authentic Belgian flavour. Where in the world will we head next?

The beer pours a golden copper colour, with some slight haze, and topped with a large fluffy off-white head that lasts. Effervescence is high. The aroma was sweet malt notes, light caramel, floral hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was overly sweet with strong caramel flavour. This was augmented by hints of yeast and grass. The finish was bitter.

Tall can from LCBO. Pours an average size foamy white head with decent soapy lace and has a pale golden appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas of barley and caramel malts, some earthy and wheaty notes. Flavours are mainly caramel and barley malt, a bit of cereal, biscuit and wheaty notes as well as some very subtle grassy hops. Crisp and drying mouthfeel.
