Born from the traditions of England, this flavourful has the balance that the Queen could be proud of. Our Nut Brown Ale is bronze in colour with a velvety smooth taste and subtle chocolate note. Lower alcohol content and subtle hoppiness make it the perfect beer to enjoy during the day, night or whenever you desire a great ale.

Almost ruddy brown and clear with a quickly dissipating cap. Quite sweet caramel aroma, woody, with a hint of raisin and soy sauce. Very sweet flavor, almost cola-esque nuttiness, a little chocolate or char, but with very little bitterness. I think Sap was on the nose with "washed out." Quite wet and fizzy. Meh. I could drink it with salty and spicy buffalo wings, but I'm not seeking this out again.

pretty typical brown ale...light caramel and chocolate in the aroma, and juuuust a touch of hops in the finish to let you know they're there. light in body and flavor, but nice.

Clear, dark amber pour with a tiny almost non-existent head and lacing to match. Weak coffee aroma with a trace of burnt malts. Not much body, thin and plain. Mildly nutty with a trace of toast and complimenting sweet malt. Blah, pretty dull even for a brown.

A standard pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces an almost four-finger thick, frothy, darkish, tan colored head. The beer is a clear, deep red / brown color that shows a brilliantly clear, rich red color with copper highlights. The aroma has a toasted, nuttiness to it that has a touch of roast, lots of toasty whole grain aromatics. The toasted malt notes are the focus, but there is a solid, secondary component of sweet malt aromatics that adds / accentuates notes of berries and thin caramel. The nose finishes a bit on the metallic side, but overall it is pretty appetizing.
Sweet and fruity tasting up front, this beer is quite light bodied, but does have some viscous malt texture that keeps this from being any where near thin. The beer picks up a touch of toasted malt towards the middle as well as a roasted nuttiness that lingers through to the finish. The toasted grain makes me think of toasted, slightly astringent, barley husks. Towards the finish is also a metallic hop bitterness and a bit of berry / citrus fruit character. The taste actually has quite a bit of fruitiness to it, and this can be the dominant note at times.
This tastes like it has been a bit too heavily filtered. I am not sure if this is really the case, it just tastes like a beer that this has been done too. Perhaps this is how it is supposed to be, but this definitely makes the flavors seem a little wan and watered down somehow, the body also seems a bit washed out. Not a bad beer though, it is certainly a serviceable Nut Brown Ale.

A dark amber to brown appearance on this one. The aroma was pretty nice with some caramel, nutmeg, and chocolate. The flavor is somewhat lacking with some chocolate and a slight nutty presence. The palate was rather thin on this one. Overall it was ok.

From a bottle. Pours a clear brown with a fizzy, soda-like head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is sweet, with an underlying sourness. Flavor is sour as well. Maybe bad yeast or improper storage? There is some caramel and chocolate undertones to it. Not too impressed, hopefully the others from there will be better. Huge thanks to Caddylac for getting this for me.
