Hightail Ale Sampled on 5/12/12. Best by 5/3/12. This English Pale Ale pours a medium to dark amber color from the 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, bready, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied English Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, bready, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy, herbal and a touch citrusy. Decent carbonation. Nicely balanced, with just a touch of residual sweetness. Nice bready malts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Picked up at BevMo the other day. A new beer they're stocking. Always nice to see new beer. Most beers from Australia lack something, usually because of the long warehouse time where it sits waiting for distribution. The beer pours out a dark amber body, clingy white head with spotty lacing. Aroma is nutty, slightly earthy like wet leaves. Watered down raisins, wood, caramel malts, some light boiled veggies. Drinkable, but nothing spectacular. -

Warm, burnt orange/amber. Cloudy. Off-white, heavy head, which leaves a nice lace. Uplifting nose of English hops, and toffee. Some spicy fruit notes. Flavours of toasty complex malts, some green-leafy hop flavours. Medium bitterness. I wonder if the Goat blokes would consider a cask-conditioned version.... Good drop.
