A generous portion of lightly roasted malt is used to brew this smooth tasting amber coloured pale ale. It is a smooth tasting pale ale brewed with a generous portion of caramel malt. All natural, no preservatives. It pairs perfectly with spicy foods.

I was not particularily impressed by this offering from Mt.Begbie. While not a huge fan of Kolsch, there Kolsch is quite good. This beer though lacked any real flavour. Pouring it in the glass it looks and smells like a typical pale ale. The immediate taste is just fine, but as one drinks I find the predominant flavours falling off and it just ends up being quite thin. Slight notes of carmel and light malt. Touch of sweetness in the form of Splenda perhaps. The flavour is there but I doesnt seem genuine, tastes of Rickards Red really... on that though I must compare them directly to eachother in the future. Other than the thin qualities in the flavour its reasonably refreshing and not at all unpalatable, just not much going for it.

A nice pale ale, better than the average swill. Head, aroma, and colour were all about the norm for a pale ale, but taste was slightly better, being somewhat crisp. I'd have it again. On tap - at least as good.
