Uncork a bottle of Peach Window Pane and savor the fresh flavors of North Carolina. Second in a series of four North Carolina inspired beers, Peach Window Pane is a double American wheat fermented with vast quantities of this luscious North Carolina fruit, then aged in Chardonnay barrels for three months. Anticipate a prevailing aroma of fruit and chardonnay, blended with a subtle amount of oak. Also expect dominant fruit flavor joined by a slightly oaky character and sourness that keeps you wanting more.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Comes out of the bottle a clear, almost peach amber with a thick and rather persistent ivory head. Malty aroma has a strong overtone of peach brandy. Flavor has a malty core and a firm peach note, as well as oak and subtle wine tones - doubtless from the barrel aging - for a well-rounded and enjoyable taste. Subtle fruity sweetness nicely balances the sharp alcohol nip and the hoppy hint. Smooth, lively texture leaves an interesting wood and fruity finish. I hope that I get the opportunity to harvest the others in this series.
