The classic Canadian lager. It is crisp, clean, and smooth with a pleasant hop character, fairly light in body and moderate sweetness.

What happens when a huge corporation tries to create a beer for all regions, tastes, events, climates and occasions? Well, you end up with bland yellow water like Labatts Blue, Budweiser and Molson Canadian. Don't get me wrong, I have had beer that is far worse, but few that are this bad and consumed by so many. This beer should be credited, however, for having caused the microbrew craze in Canada. My opinion of this beer is best summarized in a quote from an old high school girlfriend named Alice who one said to me, "you don't expect me to put that in my mouth do you?"

Just got home after a few pints of Guinness and thought someone has to drink this left over beer from Christmas. Had this many times on my travels by mistake or free.It must be good because i see it packed in every bar fridge. Dislike this beer more because my sausage rolls got burnt while doing this review.

Pours a light golden color with a big fat white creamy-fizz head. Decent retention and lacing. The nose is mild with sweet malt. Watery mouthfeel and smooth. The taste is grainy with a malty finish and the grain continues into the aftertaste.

Color is a typical straw-yellow, like most lagers. Aroma is strong, crisp and malty, but not complex - very typical. Flavor is malty, smooth and rather bland - not terrible, but nothing special. This is no different from any of a number of American mega-brews I have tasted.

Pours a fizzy bubbly head that disappears pretty quick. Has a pale straw coloured appearance. Very weak lacing. Has that grainy, corn like scents with a little bit of sweet malts. Flavours are quite bland, just undistinctive malts, wheats and grains. Maybe a tad of sweetness in there but nothing special.

I had this before I am sure, but the label looks a little different. Picked it up at ABC on clearance for $1 a bottle. Was going to grab a few, but glad I only got one. I remember Molson being a little better, but used to the Golden or Export. This is still OK for a pale lager....better than the American lagers for sure. Refreshing summer or dinner beer, but that is about it.

Clear light yellow with small white foam head. Appears to be quite carbonated, and it is. Aroma is like most mass produced pale lagers. Taste is nothing outstanding. Good dry aftertaste. (Montreal 201210)

Pours a very pale yellow color with a white foamy head that goes away rather quickly. Minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is macro grain, possibly corn and minimal malt. Taste is much of the same with a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is very thin. Overall it is not a horrible macro beer and better than the ones south of the border.

I've had this beer more than any other and have yet to review it.....my bad! Well, it's swill. It pours a pale gold colour, very clear, and usually with an excessively frothy white cap. Aroma? stale grains, very weak hops. Flavour? Not much. A very grainy tasting beer that is adjunct filled.

had on the golf course the other day. exactly what was expected. medium body, some corn, some skunk, some mildly soapy hops, and high carbonation. was better than kieths imo. One day I may do a more serious review...

It's hot outside. So pick up a cold pale lager for that barbecue event. Surprised I'd not tried this one earlier, given it's availability. A straw yellow colored beer ith lots of bubbles in the body of the beer. A big soapy textured, white head rises above. No hang time though. Left is a thin ringlet. The nose is pretty much as expected for the macro brews, sweet and grainy. So too is the taste with an interesting light citrus note. A medium bodied and creamy beer. Actually was decent.
