This smokey lager takes its' name from the 1892 fire that destroyed the Third Ward. Brewed with all German malts, and a Bavarian lager yest strain, it's by American noble hops. The result is a roasty rich flavor with an aroma that follows through. This recipe was developed by homebrewer Randy Simmons.

On tap @ Milwaukee Ale House. I like Rauchbiers. This one is dark amber, tight off-white head, nice lacing. Smoke right up front, light bacon, then some light malty sweetness, a touch of honey, more smoke, all in the nose and the palate. I like Rauchbiers. This one made me smile; a lot.
