An “old school” Cream Ale brewed in the style of several beers made by breweries from the Lebreton Flats in the 1800 and 1900’s. Made with Canadian pale malt and a blend of European and American hops, this beer is an easy-drinking, crisp and thirst-quenching ale with a deep golden colour and bright white head. It is fermented twice, once with ale yeast to produce a creamy, robust palate and then put through a secondary fermentation with lager yeast to develop a smooth and mellow character that is truly unique to this classic North American beer style. Cheers!

On tap at the Ottawa Brewpub. Pours a small amount of frothy white head that stays quite a while. Has a quite clear, pale golden appearance. Aromas of malts, mild citrus hops and wheats. Flavours of citrus hops, some hints of mangoes, various other tropical type fruits. Very fruity, maybe some grapes in the mix there. Slick and creamy mouthfeel. Mild tingly sensation. Pretty good and only available at the Ottawa location (to take home as well).

Purchased this one in a growler at the Ottawa pub (where it is made for this one only). Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a foamy head at first. The second pour gave me a creamier, long lasting, white cap with great lacing. Hoppy nose (grassy) over grainy malt with very mild spices. Oily, mildly creamy feel. Not sure if this one was infected, but has some sourness to it. Might have to try the draught version at the brewpud, next time I go.
