We continue to explore the world of nitro-beers on our Toronto brewpub nano-system. Many of our recipes are inspired by different drinks, desserts & cocktails. Mango Lassi Milkshake IPA has a rich mango flavour, hints of cardamom spice, and IPA hops. The lassi creaminess comes from a combination of wheat, lactose, and nitro.

The beer pours a heavily hazed medium gold with a snow white head that quickly disappears and leaves absolutely no lacing. The aroma is light grassy malt, tart fruit, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is primarily tart fruit notes with some grassy malt notes. Not a lot of bitterness in the finish.

Nitrogen charged 440ml can from LCBO. Pours a massive frothy off-white head, pretty thick and creamy looking head all around, has a super cloudy orangey coloured appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas of mild tropical fruit, pineapple, some subtle mango notes. Flavours of tropical fruits but fairly subtle, some citrus and piney notes. Slick and smooth mouthfeel. Not too bad.

Very hazy darker golden with an amber hue. The nitro is felt at opening and creates a good creamy warm off-white head, leaving some creamy lacing. The nose is quite fruity with the mangoes, giving a rich pineapple feel. The IPA side comes out in the taste and balances out the sweetness. The fruit hits the background and the hops add some nice dryness, bitterness and grassiness. Even hints of mint in the finish. It is really not thick, and all of these are fairly mild, but effective. Wish it had lactose (or more of it) to make the milkshake part stand out. More of a mango IPA.
