True IPAs were high in both alcohol and hops to survive the long hot voyage from Britain to India. This makes it a big and flavourful beer stye. Our version is no exception. Traditional English malts and hops are used to give this copper brew a big flavour. This beer has a slightly roasted note with a strong hop bitterness and flavour.

I tried this beer on tap on March 20, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer appeared a clear reddish-brown with a thin tight tan coloured head. The aroma was very hoppy with ample floral hoppish notes, some pine, and citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium high carbonation. The flavour had some malt, and a nice balance of grapefruity hops. There was also some acidity in the flavour.

Had this at the brewery on November 18. Amber coulor, nice head, served at cellar temperature which was nice. Not the best IPA i have had, not very bitter. Average.

I had this at the brewpub not long ago, it was on rotation replacing their excellent Tankhouse ale. This however was not quite as good. The hoppish presence that the Tankhouse has is lost in this beer as it competes with other aromas (the grainy malt).

On tap at the MS pub. Shimmering orange-amber with a substantial cap that lasts. Aroma of Pac-NW hops and some sweet bready malts, light woody tones. Malty-bready front side is well balanced with herbal-woody hop profile, finishes slightly more bitter with some pine-like alphas. Nice drinkable APA done with dry hopping.

I really enjoyed this beer. It's amber in colour with a white head. The aroma is as expected with a hoppy front, and a malty back. The flavour isn't as bitter as IIPA, but the citrusy bitterness is definitely present.

The body is a deep copper colour with a little bit of head to cap the top. The head doesn't stay though. Aroma is definitely hops, with some caramel notes in it. A very clean and crisp mouthfeel is provided from the hops. Average flavourwise with the bitter finish not all that heavy. Not for those who are looking for a big hop kick, but the beer would be good as a session ale or a refreshing break.
